Sorry I have not written this for a while but the ‘Switchback Ride’ has been quite scary. It looked as if we were going to have a book launch without the delivery of the books! However all is well and I’m now feeling quite excited. It was such thrill to actually hold a pre-print sample book in my hand after writing all those pages. I am delighted with the end product. I so hope you might be too.
Now you can look up the “How to Buy” section of this webpage and see how to order and buy the book across many countries. I think it will be pretty simple but let us know if you have any difficulties. We may be able to help. See our contact details and do give us any feedback in general if you feel like it.
Last weekend I was able to give a short virtual reading to the Jungian Champernowne Course in the UK and was encouraged by the response. The extract covered the period of my young life when my Mother and I had been at sea for six to eight weeks in the stormy Atlantic at the time of the German blockade of England. Unlike many others, we survived and were now approaching landfall. We were excitedly going home to England, but we faced a terrible shock on arrival. Last weekend I read that part of my story to the assembled delegates. That was the ‘outer’ part of my journey but I also reflected on their effect upon me; and the ‘inner’ part of the memoir’s title.
The difficulty about the presentation was that I had to read and discuss it in the middle of the night to fit my Melbourne summertime to the English winter hours! Quite a challenge. But the creative course, which I have attended for nearly thirty years — based on the work of Carl Jung, the Swiss Psychiatrist and contemporary of Freud — is always a huge pleasure. It was great to catch up with many friends and colleagues. I was so happy to be there on the back of my very own long distanced SWITCHBACK.
Do come and join me for the ride if you feel like it.
